Putting People First case study: delivering the personalisation agenda

The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames was an early implementer of self directed support (SDS). They also achieved the Putting People First (PPF) target of 30 per cent of eligible service users receiving a personal budget two years ahead of the target date.

Further, in 2010 the authority was shortlisted for a Local Innovation Award in the ‘taking control of care’ category. The authority is now looking at the personalisation agenda more widely and is undertaking a full redesign of its adult services systems and business processes.
