Stimulating local procurement in Tameside

Meet the buyer: meet the seller event - 21 September 2010

'Meet the buyer: meet the seller' was an event designed by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council to stimulate procurement within the borough, and to provide a better understanding of available products and suppliers in the area.

The event provided face-to-face timed appointments for local supply companies to ‘meet the buyers’. There were a number of business support organisations offering help, advice and support on a range of business related issues.

On the day, local businesses had a fantastic opportunity to network and build contacts, as well as raising their awareness about the goods and services that can be provided locally.

The following video, taken at the event, captures the benefits of bringing buyers and suppliers together to stimulate engagement and business opportunities (video length: 5 minutes 17 seconds).
