Tameside has a well rounded approach to economic resilience against the recession. Centred on Tameside Works First initiative, the council has shown innovative approaches to engaging heads in schools, pupils and their families.
The council is particularly strong in partnership with the third sector, engagement with communities and has a very comprehensive strategy. Tameside has demonstrated outstanding community involvement and has proved to be proactive with the recession issues in their locality.
